With the ongoing global crisis we now find ourselves in, many businesses are pivoting away from the brick and mortar model and figuring out creative ways to keep their businesses thriving. For many businesses, this means a transition to an online storefront. Or in the case of my recent client: an online studio.

Tracy contacted me wanting a fresh new warm and welcoming site for her reputable Colorado Pilates studio, which has been in business for a long time but is now going to transition to offering on-demand studio and live classes.

Tracy was a joy to work with— considerate, communicative, thoughtful, and kind. For Tracy, the owner of Center Stream Pilates, Pilates is not merely an exercise, but a philosophical practice. I loved these words from her: “The movement is not a shape; it's an energy taking form. It opens the body to the ethereal space of spirit without the burden of proving a spiritual agenda.”

We just launched a couple of weeks ago and I look forward to seeing how this site, like all sites I design, climbs the search engine rankings in the months to come.

Pilates Website Design Using The Squarespace Platform

Warm & serene color palette

The client wanted the site to be distinct from other sites, and loved relaxing desert-inspired hues. To stray from the all-too-popular stark white (with one plant) fad, I went for a less sterile combination of smoky grays, dusty roses and milky sages, with a pop of mustard here and there.

I’m a huge fan of this color palette.

Custom Banner Graphics

We all have our opinions on parallax scrolling, and I happen to love it. To enhance this design feature, it helps to have background graphics that can move in tandem with the foreground graphics. Most clients don’t present background graphics for parallax scroll, so I end up designing these for them. Necessary? No. Beautiful. Yes!

Mind Body Squarespace Integration

In order for visitors to the site to be able to schedule a class, Mind Body needed to be integrated with the new site. Tracy provided the code for me as needed so schedules and pricing are easily viewable on the site.

Built-In Expert SEO

Using my SEO techniques that have been proven time and again to get Squarespace websites to Google Page 1, I optimized Tracy’s site from every angle, as much as organically possible.

I expect in a couple of months, the site will start surfacing at the top of search engines for her targeted keywords.
